Depleted Germany show new-found resolve as Spain challenge awaits

When the experienced Kathrin Hendrich had a brain fade and pulled Mbock Bathy's ponytail in the box on 13 minutes, most Germany fans would have been forgiven for thinking France would progress into the Euro 2025 semi-finals. Centre back Hendrich was sent off and Grace Geyoro duly dispatched the spot-kick - albeit with Ann-Katrin Berger getting a hand to it - leaving the French seemingly on the brink of meeting world champions Spain in the last four.
